Our curved float and laminated panes can be manufactured to a minimum radius of 150mm ,a maximum radius of 20 metres and to a maximum size of 1600 wide x 2900 mm high. This is processed in house by forming metal moulds to the curved shapes required ,then heating the glass to a temperature until it is workable and then shaping to suit the mould.Various shapes are achievable including forming quarter circles, half circles,j shapes,or double bends. (the latter bends in both planes and is shown in the first picture below).
We then remove the glass skin or skins from the kiln and laminate, polish and drill or add sandblasted designs to the surface.
The accepted tolerance in the industry is plus/minus x half the thickness of the glass on the radius. The tolerance on girth and height is plus/minus 3mm.
Pictures below shows various images including completed, curved, double bent panes that we have cut to suit a frame supplied, kiln preparation and cold pour laminating .
Shown below are curved panels in white flashed opal,a blue laminated glass shower screen, a shopfront ,a vision panel and roof capsule.
